On the bus traveling from Porta Prince
to Ti Rivier with a little girl named Sarah

Our daily spread of a Haitian lunch.

This building will be where we live for the next year!
Our girls were excited when they saw the 4-wheeler sitting in front of it...

Road leading down to the main road from the MH front gate...
the ocean is just beyond the trees at the base of the hill.

Samuel, one of the many kids seen
almost everyday on the Mission Haiti compound.

The boat to the right was made by Robert who is
pictured in the images toward the bottom.
The last day of our trip in December we used this
to row out to a small island to experience the ocean.

Isreal, he is one of the youngest children who lives in the Mission Haiti orphanage.
It was my privilege one morning to keep him occupied while a book
distribution was going on...so we played Jenga.

Another view of the home we will be living in.

The is one of the cooks who
prepared our meals for us each day.

Tim heading up a path on our way to a school in the mountains.
It was about an hour and a half hike up...
you can tell by his expression he is happy I was taking this picture : )

Some children being led in a lesson
during our visit to the Bethany school.

Tim interacting with kids at the Bethany school.

This image was taken by another child while we were getting ready for an art
class at the ministry center just down the road from the MH compound.

Water color projects being worked on at the ministry center.

Creativity is not bound by age!

Last day on the compound during our December trip.
This is our friend Paul.  He and his wife Bethany will also be moving
to MH with us this summer from their home in Florida.

Having to say goodbye to Isreal in December.
He never really said too much, but was always close by : )

This image is maybe worth a whole post someday.
This little boy made a lasting impression on both Tim and I.
He is now home in heaven, fully restored.

Our fisherman friend Robert, who expertly rowed us to a small island
for a few hours of relaxation the last day of our trip in December.

Another picture of Isreal and I, he is loved by many.

Our team stopped at the Joubin school halfway up the mountain during a 3 hour hike.
This is a school directly involved with Embrace church in Sioux Falls, SD.
These were a few students in the kindergarten class who drew pictures
in the dirt with me using rocks to outline our shapes.

A view from on top of a mountain during one of the hikes we made.

The 2 homes above will house Paul and Bethany, as well as Pam,
our MH director, also moving to Ti Rivier this summer.

Raised planting beds inside the MH walls
where our potential garden will be growing very soon.

Some of the MH orphanage buildings
where the kids spend much of their day.

More of the orphanage yard.

The next 14 images you will see were taken by a student of mine, Kiley Olsen, who was a part of the team who went to Ti Riviere with the team from SFC in April.  Enjoy!

We all stayed pretty close to our house as it was a busy
day of school distribution.

He is usually always smiling... but I think this was
an extra warm day and he had planted for about an hour.

First plant in!!!

Little truck... lots of school desks.
This load was headed up a mountain to one
of the farthest schools MH helps with.
We can confirm all made it safely.

Another picture of Regan helping with laundry.
I think she just likes how wet we get during the process.

Aubrey's new cell phone and speaker.

Girls playing checkers with bottle caps lying around.

Obstacle course put together by Aubrey as part of our game night.

First looks.

This little guy was having a rough morning
being his first day of school for the year.
Took a couple of us to calm him down.

Not even sure what to say about these little guys,
they were so excited for school to start.

Eager eyes.

Smiles for the camera... I thought I was being sneaky : )

Trying coconut milk for the first time.

Not Bethany's first time with coconut milk, as you can see

she went right for the straw!

Harvesting tilapia out of our tanks.

Took out approximately 200 fish that day.

These birds have become a part of everyday life
on our property.  So we decided to have a little
fun with them.  Actually, there was a purpose...
this year sponsors can opt to provide a chicken
and a pair of sunglasses for their sponsor child
as a Christmas gift.

Fredrick school classes lining up for
morning exercises.

Hard at work.

One of the last book distribution days for the 14-15 school year.
